I like to mess around with our Thanksgiving Day menu right up until the last minute! And, while I love the idea of trying new things, I try to stick to my general entertaining rule of thumb ‘go with what you know.’
Even after hours of searching through my favorite cookbooks and blogs, I usually end up picking something that I know will be a success. For me, Thanksgiving is about friends and family and being together, so no need the added stress of trying to impress.
Thanks to Partner’s Card this year, we’re smoking our Thanksgiving turkey on our new Green Egg. Really, I should say Greg is smoking our turkey, which is totally fine because it means more time and more free ovens for all those yummy sides.

Dallas Thanksgiving Menu
I’ve wanted to make Dean Ferrings’ Dallas Thanksgiving Menu ever since I saw it in Food & Wine a few years ago. Probably because the first recipe is for a Blood Orange Margarita! My family prefers a few more traditional dishes, but if you’re up for twist on the ordinary, I’m sure this would be fabulous.
Whatever you decide, I hope you are able to enjoy some time with friends and family, reflecting on the many things you are thankful for.
