Kir Royale is an iconic french cocktail – basically champagne with a splash of a black currant liquor, crème de cassis. (A Kir is made with white wine instead of Champagne. But what’s the point? Bubble or bust, if you ask me.) It’s a bit hard to find crème de cassis but I think most people just substitute Chambord, a raspberry liquor. At leasts that what’s I do.
Ready to make one? Here’s what you’ll need…
- 5 oz. chilled Champagne or sparkling wine
- 2 tsp. crème de cassis or Chambord
- Blackberries or lemon twist for garnish
Start by adding the crème de cassis or Chambord into your glass, follow with champagne, garish with blackberries or a bit of lemon and enjoy!
