The bold lip is back. Maybe it’s because burgundy is the 2015 pantone color of the year, or maybe we’re ready to move on from a neutral lip. It’s been awhile since I rocked dark lipstick but the make-up artist at Bobbi Brown was so excited about it – I couldn’t say no.
Dark takes a little bit of practice – you can’t swipe it on sans mirror on your way out the door. But done right, it makes a statement and lasts. Bobbi Brown’s winning combo is this crazy jumbo crayon, dark lipstick and equally as dark swipe of lip shine.
The jumbo crayon, aka Art Stick, is pretty cool. It works a liner, it’s easy to use as a full color base and it’s creamy enough to use by its self for a full coverage lip. I think it’s key to making a dark lip last.
With the Art Stick as a base, you can layer on a few coats of Bobbi Brown’s Crimson Rich Lip. It’s dark, so watch out for stray color.
And last but not least, a quick swipe of the equally as dark Aubergine gloss. It adds an extra pop and isn’t too sticky.
Volia! A dark lip for a night out on the town. Just be careful around your husband’s white shirt.
